10 Jan 08 (Fête de Lynn et Guillaume), 13 Jan 08 (Fête de Michelle)

Joyeux Anniversaire aux bébés nés en Janvier!! There're seriously MANY people in our Grenoble group born just days apart in the month of January of 1986. First it was Letch's (on the 5th), then Lynn's (the 9th), Guillaume's (the 10th) and lastly Michelle's (the 13th!)

10th January @ Résidence Rabot
On the 10th, we held a party to celebrate Lynn and Guillaume's birthdays at Rabot, Lynn's residence. Thanks to Kevin, the non-Singaporeans got a chance to taste Bak Kut Teh!

This is a video of us the international students learning a popular French ditty (merci Guillaume!) which requires two groups of people to compete to see who can sing the loudest.

Team Tribord goes: C'est à Tribord, qu'on chante, qu'on chante. C'est à Tribord, qu'on chante le plus fort! (It's at Tribord, that we sing, that we sing. It's the Tribordians that sing the loudest!)

Team Babord goes:
C'est à Babord, qu'on chante, qu'on chante. C'est à Babord, qu'on chante le plus fort! (singing louder than Team Tribord)

and it's back to Tribord who'll sing even louder and so on... until the singing becomes more like shouting. Haha.

13th January @ Résidence Condillac

The birthday surprise for Mich as predicted, met with some glitches (haha! we never seem to be able to pull off a proper surprise!). We initially wanted to hide in her room before she returned from church but she got to the Condillac tram stop at the exact same moment as did the non-Condillacians. As much as Mark tried to convince her that they were there to visit Shaowei, Mich didn't fall for it. (ahyo gourmande can you be more gullible!! =D)

The absolutely delicious cake Mark bought

Zhouxiang and Tanzi, who just arrived in Grenoble for the next sem joined us! As did Mich's neighbour.

Mich and the Grenoble Universités shirt we got her!

Mich had another celebration at night because her good friend Shaoqing (a very warm and sincere masters' student from China) wanted to celebrate her birthday with her. So she brought a whole bag of food to our kitchen to cook Mich a dinner. So sweet right!

left: rejection without hesitation (haha sorry Kev!)

above: Condillacians and a Rabotian!
