20 Nov 07 - L'Assemblée Générale

The 20th Nov 2007 was by far the most important day in the university calendar thus far, for the Assemblée Générale (General Assembly of the Student's Union) was to be held to decide whether or not to continue with the blockage of the schools.

Perhaps a thousand or two students gathered outside the Amphi Weil although it was drizzling to listen to what the student leaders had to say and to make their opinions heard.

However, it seemed that the crowd was operating on herd mentality, waving their hands in the air and whistling in approval when others did.
After the meeting that lasted about 4 hours (what??), an eruption of cheers and whistles signaled that the schools would continue to be blocked for another week, when the next AG would take place. It seemed to me that the decision wasn't very representative of the general opinion of the student population. Of all those I've spoken to, none were for the blockage of the schools!

Hey yo, so was your school blocked again this week?

What have everyone been doing then?

The concert was great, glad that I went.

I have to buy a set of 3 tickets for 66 euros. The seats are ok, but I still miss not going to Nou Camp...sigh...haha
