15 Nov 07 - Il neige!

When I awoke in the morning and looked out the window, I saw dust-like particles floating about outside. Raindrops don't stay suspended that long, I thought. I stuck my hand out and the dust particle melted.

I was exhilarated! Even though it was just a little, it was still snowing! And although I've seen snow on the mountains, this was the first time I'd seen it fall from the sky! =)=)

No photos to tell of it though, the snow at Condillac was too light but I heard it snowed a hell lot in the city centre.

Attended my computer lab session as usual but about an hour before the lesson was supposed to end, a member of the staff entered to tell us we had to evacuate cos some students outside demanded the blockage of the school and they had to respect that. I looked out the window and sure enough, dustbins and trolleys were piled high at the entrance. It was quite funny to a Singaporean who's never had classes disrupted except for fire drills.

right: a notice outside the entrance from the school's president (member of the staff) informing students that the blockage of the school will continue until early afternoon and that there will be make-up classes. When I went there for my afternoon classes, it was still blocked. Not that I minded of course. =p Apparently, most universities in Grenoble were blocked, except for the engineering school.

right: even the main library wasn't spared from the vandalism. You see 'Vive la Grève' (Long live the strike!) on the wall near the entrance.

left: more vandalism on school buildings (they don't mince their words) - it's not too late to abandon the life of a student, burn your faculty, join the delinquency!
right:
extracts from a flier given out by the Student's Union explaining the reasons for which they blocked the schools. (the blockage inconveniences, it isn't democratic but what other means do we have to make ourselves heard?... Yes, we have dialogues between the people and the government. They listen, but that's all!... We have no intention to shut our mouths. The blockage is a pressure tactic.)

Walked around the school compound since I had nothing to do hehe.
